Battle Rounds!

New Blog Posts from Cassadee's The Voice Blog

Holy moly

I promised myself I would try and blog about every monumental moment during this process. I'm fully aware you won't be reading these until the episodes air. Just figured it would be fun to include you all in my crazy journey. :) So Ryan and I had our piano practice yesterday for our Battle song "Not Over You." We knew Blake would be there, but we had no idea who the mentor was going to be. Of course, all our guesses were way off, and we walked into the room to see Michael Buble!!! He was one of the most genuine, pleasant people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I had a lot of fun watching him and Blake's banter bounce back and forth. I'm sure some stuff won't be used, because this is after all a family show. ;) All in all, it was another awesome day in Voiceland. And I got to meet yet another artist for whom I have immense respect.
Today was the day I had my one on one talk with Blake and Michael. I had a few questions ready to go, and they were so accommodating with their responses. What I took away from that talk was confidence. They made me feel more sure about myself, without making me think I don't need to keep working my ass off. They added fuel to my fire, if anything.
And last but not least, I recorded "Torn" at the studio! I've never had such an easy, quick session before. The producer was very laid back and fun to work with. I sang the song all the way through about 5 times, and that was it! So that's all folks.... for now. In a few hours, I'm off to wardrobe to be fit for my Battle Rounds outfit. Can't wait to see what we come up with! 'Til next time...

woof

Ryan and I had our first band practice with Blake. As you could see from the episode, I wasn't too thrilled about it. I've always been a perfection
ist and pretty hard on myself when it comes to pitch. And when Blake said that our pitch was an issue, it was my undoing. All I wanted was to impressive him and know that I prepared well for this practice. But after having time to blow off some steam and think, I feel much better about everything. I'm not the kind of person who goes down without a fight! Me and Ryan are about to practice on our own right now. So as long as we keep doing that, we'll be great! I feel pretty silly about the water works, but this process is like a roller coaster ride. Your emotions just have to strap in!

Practice

Ryan and I have been practicing A LOT for our Battle Round. I think we're going to sound awesome together! We have a stage/ dress rehearsal in a few hours. That will be helpful since we have a some choreography to work out. I'm getting more excited by the minute!

Almost time

So I wrote this two days before my Battle Round. I feel really prepared and ready. I've been able to keep this mindset where I'm confident but still realistic. I could be going home within the next few days. I know that's not exactly postitive thinking, but it helps me stay grounded and want to fight for my spot that much more. It has worked for me so far, so I'm stickin with it! I'm just excited to get back on that stage and rock it!

WOAH!

I won my battle! I couldn't be happier with both my own performance and Ryan's. I think we showed Blake just how hard we worked. We were worlds better on that stage than at band practice, and I'm so glad Blake acknowledged that. Ceelo thinks I have a unique voice, and Adam said he was still mad I didn't pick him. It was like a dream! Haha still in shock. I'm excited to be moving forward. I have no idea what to expect in this next round, but it'll be fun like always :) Another one down! One more to go til the live rounds!! I hope you all enjoyed the performance.

The Voice Contestant Cassadee Pope: I Don't Think I Have an Unfair Advantage (Source From E! News)

Cassadee Pope got all four judges to turn their chairs around Tuesday night on The Voice with her stunning rendition of "Torn," but did she have an unfair advantage from the start?

Pope, 22, is the former lead singer of pop rock band Hey Monday and even previously toured with Fall Out Boy, but now she wants to break out as a solo artist. During a conference call today, Cassadee responded to some of her critics who claim that she has a vocal cord up on her competition.

"I definitely think going on tour and performing a lot has really helped me, but the same could be said for everyone else who has ever played shows," Pope told reporters Wednesday. "This just isn't something I've ever experienced before, especially in a competition setting, because a tour definitely isn't anything like that."

But do other contestants this season feel the same way?

"I got great feedback from the contestants and also from my teammates who tweeted and texted me," Cassadee responded. "During my time with everyone before we started shooting the blind auditions, I was just as nervous as the next person who has never played on stage before with a band. I think playing shows and doing regular concerts is a whole different experience."

Speaking of her band, Pope clarified that Hey Monday is just on hiatus: "We're all doing our own things right now."

And it seems there is no bad blood between Cassadee and her band mates.  "I got some texts last night from them," she said. "They are extremely supportive."

With over 171,000 followers on Twitter, it's safe to say Cassadee Pope has already established a fan base that will help her get pretty far this season.

"I do feel a lot of love from the fans I have already made," she said. "It makes me feel a little more confident, and a little more fearless."

Cassadee Pope, who went with Blake Shelton, isn't the only contestant who had solid experience before competing on The Voice. Back up singer Amanda Brown joined Cee Lo Green's team last night while former Disney singer Jordan Pruitt joined Christina Aguilera on Monday.

"The Voice's" Dez Duron and Cassadee Pope talk about their lives before appearing on the hit NBC singing competition show. Dez competed on "The Voice" once before, but wasn't chosen by any of the judges, so why didn't he switch to a different singing competition show. Season Premier

I watched the season premier last night... and WOW. You have to understand, I haven't heard a lot of these artists sing. I am so blown away by the talent I've seen so far! I'm honored to be surrounded by such incredible singers with inspiring stories that touch my heart and soul.

Did that really happen? It's the morning after my Blind Audition aired and I'm sitting on my couch, watching all the tweets and Facebook comments come in. I'm so touched by all the support I'm getting from old AND new fans. This is going to change my life. I'll make sure of it!
